CID Management is a healthcare cost control firm in the East Bay (San Ramon) are of San Francisco looking for a senior developer to take major responsibility for our in-house development efforts.
This position is a full-time development position and requires thorough understanding of open source & OO development. Finding a good cultural fit is more important than expert coding skills. Passion and drive are highly valued and your ability to quickly take responsibility for a task and come up with pragmatic and elegant solutions is extremely important.
The candidate will have an in-depth understanding of Python and/or Ruby and their respective Django/Rails frameworks. A good understanding of .NET applications and the ability to use MS SQL Server is important. We are converting from a .NET shop to an open source shop so it is important that you have the ability to quickly learn new tools and come up with business solutions using those tools.
You will also need to become proficient with Crystal Reports and help manage internal infrastructure issues, including: build vs. buy decisions, server maintenance, software setup. Excellent opportunity to have a large technology impact for a small profitable healthcare firm.
Position requires architecture skills, requirements gathering, interfacing with clients and internal staff and a significant amount of coding (85%-90%) to build and deploy web applications. The ability to deliver under tight deadlines and to differentiate the tradeoffs between timely delivery and elegant code is essential.

Experience creating and maintaining Use Cases
Extensive (4+ years) experience with Open Source technologies
Knowledge of Python/Django or Ruby/Rails
Knowledge of .NET technologies
Prior experience maintaining a web server
Prior experience managing open source database solutions
Preferred:
B.S. Computer Science
10+ years experience in software development
Knowledge of Crystal Reports
XML/XSLT skills and use of XML in prior project
